Choosing the Right Stone

Selecting the right surface is one of the most important decisions in any project. Each material offers its own balance of appearance, performance, and maintenance, so understanding the differences is key to making the right choice. At Remarkable Stone, we work with three main surface types... Natural Stone, Engineered Stone, and Porcelain, each suited to different applications, styles, and priorities.

Natural Stone

Natural stone is formed over millions of years, making every slab completely unique. Variations in colour, veining, and movement are a defining feature, giving each surface its own character and depth. No two slabs will ever be identical.

This category includes materials such as marble, granite, and quartzite, each offering different levels of durability and visual impact. Marble is often chosen for its soft, elegant veining, while quartzite and granite provide greater strength for high-use areas.

Natural stone is ideal for those who value individuality and want to create a statement surface with organic beauty.

Engineered Stone

Engineered stone is manufactured using natural materials combined with advanced technology to create a consistent and durable surface. This includes traditional quartz-based products as well as newer low- and no-silica options.

Unlike natural stone, engineered surfaces offer controlled colour and pattern, making them ideal for achieving a uniform look across larger areas. They are highly durable, low maintenance, and well suited to everyday use.

With a wide range of styles available, engineered stone is a practical choice for modern living.

Porcelain

Porcelain is a high-performance surface made from natural minerals and formed under extreme heat and pressure. The result is an ultra-compact, non-porous material with exceptional durability. Replicating natural stones beauty for everyday.

Highly resistant to heat, stains, scratches, and UV exposure, porcelain performs well in both indoor and outdoor environments. Its non-porous nature also makes it hygienic and easy to maintain.

With large-format slabs and a wide range of finishes, porcelain offers a cost-effective, clean, modern surface with long-term performance.
